I came across this video on Facebook. After watching it, I just had to do a blog post about it and the wonderful organization that rescued sweet Fiona called Hope for Paws. This story hits close to home as Alex (my husband) rescued our little Macy Gray in sort of the same way.
This video made me cry harder than I have in a long time but definitely worth the watch. They were tears of sadness and happiness as sweet Fiona was rescued and now has a wonderful, loving home. Thank God that there are people out in the world like this. They are angels and true heroes of the world in my eyes.
Please take a moment to watch the video -- with a box tissues I might add. Also, please visit Hope For Paws to see what else this amazing rescue is doing. They are now added to my "favorite rescue to donate to" list. Hopefully, they will be added to your too. ♥

It breaks my heart to hear stories like this one -- the Oklahoma Tornado Disaster. Prayers and love go out to all of those affected by this deadly storm.
There is a great fundraising auction going on right now on Facebook called "OK Save A Dog"
Here's a little info about this great causethat I got from their Facebook page"Auction

tornadoes that went through Oklahoma on May 19th and 20th, 2013. They
are are out rescuing and need funds for the influx of animals that is
expected .They go out everyday looking through the rubble working to
rescue these animals and reunite them with their owners. Most are
scared and hungry...some injured. They need horse, dog and cat food,
litter and litter boxes, crates of all sizes..and this is the sort term
needs.. long term would include vetting for those that are injured."
You can donate items for the auction, bid on items that you would like, make a monetary donation
or all three. I have donated some items for the auction. Please share with
all your blogging, Twitter and Facebook friends and family. Please let's
help this great cause raise some much needed money. Thanks! :-)

I wrote this very special "Blog The Change" post about a rescue that is near and dear to my heart - Noah's Arks Rescue. They are an animal rescue organization that I follow and support that is made up of volunteers (no paid staff at all). They are an AMAZING group of people who are Guardian Angels to those animals in need (most which are extreme abuse cases).
Jendar, a 4mth old puppy so sick they couldn't tell she was a dog.
Noah's Arks Animal Rescue is a group of individuals working to end the senseless killing of innocent animals in shelters across the country, They supply emergency medical and surgical care to abused animals. They are not a shelter. The only animals they foster are the ones in their surgical program. They focus on animals that depend on Noah's Arks Rescue to fight for their right to life. Please consider donating to this great cause and help those who cannot help themselves.
Chuck - appeared to have been dragged behind a car.
If you are considering a companion animal, please contact Noah's Arks Rescue. If you cannot adopt but would like to help, consider becoming a foster parent or make a donation. All donations (100%) go toward saving the life of an animal that has been abused or severely neglected.
Noah's Arks Rescue is 100% funded by your donations. Without generous people, they could not help all the animals they do. They are the last ray of hope for the animals they rescue. Noah's Arks Rescue takes in those that society has forgotten. All of the donations go to this cause. They are volunteers and do not take any funds for their service. Their reward is seen in the eyes of the animals they help. Please, help them, by donating and/or spreading the word about this awesome rescue organization. All donations are tax deductible.

I love wine and a great cause. Now I can enjoy both at the same time. The Dog Lover's Wine Club is a California-based winery that supports shelters and rescue organizations.
When suspended NFL quarterback Michael Vick's house was raided in 2007, 51 dogs were rescued - 22 of those dogs have been and are being rehabilitated by Best Friends Animal Society in Kanab, Utah. The Dog Lover's Wine Club is honoring these rescued dogs with its Vicktory Dog Wine Collection. Each of the 22 wine bottle labels features one of the rescued and rehabilitated pit bulls. A portion of all sales is donated to Best Friends Animal Society for campaigns to help strengthen laws against and penalties for dog fighting, and for campaigns against legislation to ban specific breeds of dogs.
You can purchase any Vicktory bottle label or all 22 bottle labels here. What a wonderful way to honor these precious animals that were dealt a bad hand. With the help of each bottle purchased these dogs now have a chance at a new life in a loving home as wonderful companion animals. So raise your glass and "salute" a great cause!
P.S. - The Dog Lovers Wine Club also has tons of other wine labels of other rescued dogs. You can also create your own custom label. How cool is that?! :-)
Do you live in Greenville, SC or the surroundings areas? If so, then I wanted to share a really great event with you called Paws For A Cause.
Paws For A Cause is a one-mile dog walk to raise money for the fight against cancer (in humans and animals). The event takes place on October 2, 2010 at 9am at the Falls Park in Greenville, SC. They will also have music, games, raffles and contests to participate in.
If you don't live in the Greenville, SC area but would like to contribute to the cause, they have gourmet coffee, tea and hot chocolate for sale on their website.
Below is a video of last year's Paws For A Cause event. If you love animals and want to contribute to a great cause then grab your pooch for a fun filled day at the park!
My cousin sent me an e-mail about this AMAZING little girl with a heart of gold. I checked out her website and was floored (in a good way). She is only 11 and already wanting to make a difference in this world. Below is a little history about Samantha "Sammie" and her cause. Please consider donating. I know I will!
Sammie Save The Gulf: Samantha Abrahams is an 11 year old who wants to make a difference and save the animals of the Gulf of Mexico. And she needs your help. With her own money, she prompted her parents to help her create a non-profit charity that will provide help groups and organizations dedicated to rescuing and rehabilitating the animals affected by the April 2010 oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico. Samantha is an animal lover who is passionate about making a difference in her community and in her world.
Please consider a donation that will help groups and organizations tasked with the difficult job of rescuing and rehabilitating birds, reptiles, and sea mammals struggling for survival. Please visit her website and Facebook page to learn more about how you can help!
This blog began because of my undying love for two little Chihuahua’s (Patti Marie and D’Angelo). My love has since expanded to include two more fur babies – Macy Gray and Sadie. You think you only have enough love in you for so many animals until God brings more in need to your doorstep. When you look into their eyes and see their desperation, fear and need - you can’t turn them away. It is then and only then when you realize that you have enough love to go around and then some. :o)
Throughout the years, I have learned so much about animals (especially dogs). I would like to share with you my knowledge, adventures, experiences and everything under the sun related to dogs. I have always been an animal lover since I was a little girl. I would sneak animals in my room at night so they would have a warm and cozy place to sleep and would sneak them back out before dawn (unbeknownst to my parents).
I have always spoiled animals and taken care of them as if I actually gave birth to them. I don’t understand people who think animals are just disposable objects. In the words of Joan C. Fremo, “Those people...who will never have the joy in their lives of knowing they are loved unconditionally by someone as close to an angel as they will ever get. How empty my life would be.”
My husband and I live with our four precious puppy dogs (who rule the house – we just pay for it :-). Three of our dogs are rescues and we have also fostered other animals in need from time to time. I hope you find my blog informative, useful and most of all fun. Thank you for visiting and Enjoy!
