In Memory of Sweet Baby Sadie Samara...

In memory of Sadie Samara - It deeply saddens me to say that our precious little Sadie Samara passed away Saturday, March 18, 2017 due to liver cancer and an enlarged heart. She passed away at our vet's office snuggled in her favorite blankets while we kissed and caressed her, and whispered in her ear how much we loved her – until the last beat of her heart. Sadie passed away the same day that our little Patti Marie passed on four years ago.

Sadie was almost 16 years old and had an amazing life with us. Alex went out for Chick-Fil-A one morning and brought back Sadie. He found her as a stray near our home in 2008. She had been shaven completely down and had blisters, welts, and was horribly sunburned. We nursed her back to health and she's been our baby ever since. I fell completely in love with her from the first moment I saw her.

Sadie was so sweet and precious - the love of our lives. She had the most adorable personality and made us laugh all the time. I don't think she even knew she was a puppy dog - to us and her, she was a baby.

We loved Sadie so deeply - she had a spoiled and beautiful life filled with immense love. She is now in heaven with her beloved brother and sisters - D'Angelo, Patti Marie, and Macy Gray.

We were so very blessed and honored to have had her in our lives and look forward to the day that we can be reunited once more. Mommy and daddy love you so very much sweet baby Sadie!

In Memory of Precious Macy Gray...

In memory of Macy Gray - It deeply saddens us to say that our sweet baby Macy Gray passed away Friday, August 29, 2014 due to kidney failure. She passed at our vet's office snuggled in her favorite blankets surrounded by her daddy, mommy and sister, Sadie. Macy was 16 years old and had an amazing life with us. Alex found her 14 years ago, almost dead in a parking lot. She was matted, covered in fleas and so badly dehydrated that the fleas were drinking the water from her eyes. It took him about six months to nurse her back to health. Macy was basically glued to Alex's side for the rest of her life. She loved mommy so much but she lived for her daddy....a daddy's girl for sure. :-)

Macy was so sweet and so sassy. At only 4 lbs., she ruled the house. She had the cutest personality and was very comedic. We loved Macy so very much -- she had a spoiled and beautiful life! She is now in heaven with her beloved brother and sister - D'Angelo and Patti Marie.

We were so very blessed to have had her in our lives and look forward to the day that we can be reunited once more. Mommy and daddy love you so very much precious little Macy Gray! ♥

St. Patti's Day!!!

Saint Patti Marie ♥
Today is a very special day and a very sad day for us. It's a day we celebrate our St. Patti -- Patti Marie that is! ♥

Patti Marie passed away March 18, 2013. Tomorrow will mark a year that she has been gone. It seems like only minutes have passed since I last saw her, since I last kissed her, since I last snuggled with her. Still, today was always her day. I always celebrated my sweet St. Patti and always will. I miss Patti every moment of every day. She was my life, my love and my baby. Even through the tears, I will still celebrate her life and her love which I will carry with me all the days of my life.

In loving memory....Happy St. Patti's Day! May the luck of the Irish be with you today and always! ♣

In Memory of Sweet Baby D'Angelo....

In memory of D’Angelo (a.k.a. - Baby D) - It deeply saddens me to say that our Sweet Baby D’Angelo passed away Thursday, August 22, 2013 due to internal bleeding. He was able to pass at home on his favorite spot (same spot that Patti passed) on the bed with his favorite blankie surrounded by his mommy, daddy and his sisters. A world of thanks to our vet and a vet tech who came to the house at 9:30 pm Thursday night and put him to sleep while we snuggled, rubbed and kissed on him the whole time – until the last beat of his heart. It was so peaceful, beautiful and sad at the same time. D’Angelo was our little man and the love of our lives. Sadie and Macy were able to say their good-byes to him. They were very upset and cried out loud for their beloved brother. We are giving them tons of love, attention, extra walks and treats to help them cope with the loss.

The ones that knew D’Angelo knew that he had so many serious health issues – epilepsy, diabetes, cushing’s disease, allergies, liver problems, eye problems, heart problems, etc. I didn’t talk about his health problems to people or blog about it because that wasn’t what I wanted to focus on. I wanted to focus on the positive aspects of life. Looking at D’Angelo, you would have never known that he dealt with all that he did. He was always happy and very loving to everyone. Our Sweet Baby D was the bravest little boy in the whole world. Alex and I devoted our lives to taking care of our sweet boy. We have no regrets at all. We loved him so deeply. He let us know when he was ready to go and now he is in heaven with his beloved sister (and the love of his life) Patti Marie who passed away only 5 months ago.

D’Angelo was truly the sweetest, gentlest, handsome, loving and most precious puppy dog in the world – a beautiful soul indeed. He was truly a lover boy! The name D’Angelo means “From the Angels” and that is truly what he was – he was a gift from the Angels and from God. I used to always whisper in his ear that he was my "heaven on earth" and he was -- he was my little piece of heaven on earth. We rescued him from the Greenville Humane Society in 2005. He stole our hearts immediately. We are so very blessed to have had him in our lives and look forward to the day that we all can be reunited once more. Mommy and Daddy love you and miss you so very much sweet Baby D!

In Remembrance of Patti Marie (Happy Birthday)

Patti Marie
Today would have been Patti's 14th birthday. To those who are viewing this blog for the first time, Patti Marie was my Chihuahua who passed away 5 months ago due to kidney failure. I have such wonderful memories of Patti as we shared our life with each other. Every time I look at her pictures I am reminded of what a beautiful soul she was and how very blessed I was to have her in my life.

Since Patti is not here with us physically, we are celebrating her birthday in other ways. I have taken the pups on a long car ride, made a special meal for them and have donated a ton of stuffed animals/toys for dogs and cats to our local Humane Society in Patti's honor.

I always stock up on dog and cat toys (stuffed animals, etc.) after Christmas when everything goes on clearance for 50% - 90% off. You can get a ton of stuff for a great price. I save these items so I can donate them to our local animal shelters. I also go through all of our dogs stuffed animals at home. I choose stuffed animals that have been gently used and that don't have holes in them to donate to the shelters. I wash them using a detergent that is free of perfumes and dyes (Tide Free and Gentle). It is important to NOT use any detergent or fabric softener that has dyes or perfumes in it because some animals have allergic reactions to it. You would be surprised how much a stuffed animal/toy will lift the spirits of an animal at the shelter. They can snuggle with the toy or play with it. Either way it brings the animal comfort and security.♥

So, even though our beloved Patti is not with us anymore, her memory and her loving spirit will live in our hearts forever. Each year we will celebrate her birthday by giving to those animals that are less fortunate and in need. May they all be as fortunate to find a home as wonderful and loving as the one that Patti had. That is my wish for the animals of the world.....

Happy Birthday Sweet Baby Patti Marie! ♥

In Memory of Our Precious Patti Marie....

It deeply saddens me to say that our precious little Patti Marie passed away Monday, March 18, 2013 due to kidney failure. She was able to pass at home on her favorite spot on the bed with her favorite blankie surrounded by her mommy, daddy and her brother and sisters. A world of thanks to our vet who came to the house at 9 pm Monday night and put her to sleep while I snuggled, rubbed and kissed on her the whole time – until the very end. It was so beautiful, peaceful and sad at the same time.

We gave the pups time to say goodbye and sniff her. D'Angelo's good-bye to Patti was so precious. Once we put her on the floor he went up to her body -- he kissed her eyes, kissed her face, sniffed her tushy one last time, let out a big sigh and a tear came out of his eye as he walked out of the room. So very sad but so beautiful. D'Angelo was so in love with Patti. It is hard on him so I am doing extra stuff (more car rides) and extra lovin' (if that's even possible - I have always given him a ton of love).

Patti was my world and the love of my life. A part of me died when she did. I used to always look at her and say "you complete me." I have no regrets at all. I loved Patti so deeply for 13 years and we were always together -- always. She was 8 weeks old and a ½ pound when I got her. I can still remember her puppy breath. She was truly the sweetest, gentlest, most beautiful puppy dog in the world. I would go through all the pain again to be able to experience the "pure love" that she gave me. I am so very blessed to have had her in my life and look forward to the day that we can be reunited once more. Mommy and Daddy love you so very much little Patti Marie! ♥
