In Memory of Our Precious Patti Marie....

It deeply saddens me to say that our precious little Patti Marie passed away Monday, March 18, 2013 due to kidney failure. She was able to pass at home on her favorite spot on the bed with her favorite blankie surrounded by her mommy, daddy and her brother and sisters. A world of thanks to our vet who came to the house at 9 pm Monday night and put her to sleep while I snuggled, rubbed and kissed on her the whole time – until the very end. It was so beautiful, peaceful and sad at the same time.

We gave the pups time to say goodbye and sniff her. D'Angelo's good-bye to Patti was so precious. Once we put her on the floor he went up to her body -- he kissed her eyes, kissed her face, sniffed her tushy one last time, let out a big sigh and a tear came out of his eye as he walked out of the room. So very sad but so beautiful. D'Angelo was so in love with Patti. It is hard on him so I am doing extra stuff (more car rides) and extra lovin' (if that's even possible - I have always given him a ton of love).

Patti was my world and the love of my life. A part of me died when she did. I used to always look at her and say "you complete me." I have no regrets at all. I loved Patti so deeply for 13 years and we were always together -- always. She was 8 weeks old and a ½ pound when I got her. I can still remember her puppy breath. She was truly the sweetest, gentlest, most beautiful puppy dog in the world. I would go through all the pain again to be able to experience the "pure love" that she gave me. I am so very blessed to have had her in my life and look forward to the day that we can be reunited once more. Mommy and Daddy love you so very much little Patti Marie!

Thank you so much sweet friends, Liz and Max. Yes, it took me about 3 hours to create this post because I kept crying. So totally worth it though. I miss my baby Patti so much.

Your beautiful tribute to Patti has me in tears. I know the pain of losing pets all too well. I know there are no words that can ease this pain so I'll only say; God bless Patti. I know she is out of pain and looking down on you from Heaven.

Thanks so much 2browndawgs for your sweet words. I am so very sorry about your loss as well (your first dog). We never really get over it, we just find a way to cope, remember the wonderful times we shared with our fur babies and find the strength to love again.

One of my favorite quotes is "Don't cry because it's over, Smile because it happened. - Dr. Seuss. So very true (although I do cry, I also smile a lot when think about the amazing time I had with her).

Again, thank you. :-)
