I am known as the "dog lady" - well sort of. I am not crazy or anything like that. I just LOVE dogs and love surrounding myself around them. It makes me happy and is a great stress reliever. Understanding dogs comes naturally to me. It's like we have our own language. In a perfect world, that is what I would do for a living - just be with puppy dogs all the time. Maybe I should start my own pet sitting service. :-)
My husband and I spoil our dogs rotten and I can honestly say we have the sweetest dogs in the whole world. Did I mention that we have 4 of them? Seems like a lot but they are very small. It wasn't our intention to have 4 dogs, it just happened that way. Three of them are rescues that we just couldn't turn away. So we are a happy family of 6...us and our 4 fur babies.
Just because we spoil our dogs doesn't mean that they are brats. We are the pack leaders (most days). They are very well behaved and I truly think that my little Chihuahua, D'Angelo has mastered the English Language. He understands....I'm just saying! :-)
If you haven't ever experienced the joys of total loyalty and unconditional love that a puppy dog can bring you then you are truly missing out. Puppy kisses are magical. :-)

I think that is an excellent way of describing dogs....magical! I always tell my husband then when I retire I want to buy a big piece of land and start a safe haven for dogs to live out their lives in peace...it is my life goal! :)
Thanks for sharing today!
Hi Emily! What a beautiful dream. I truly hope that it comes true when you retire (or sooner). :-) I would love to do that as well.
One of my favorite quotes is by a woman named Joan C. Fremo, "....I would not have to answer the question ‘Why do you have so many animals?’ from people who will never have the joy in their lives of knowing they are loved unconditionally by someone as close to an angel as they will ever get. How empty my life would be."
That says it all. :-)

I grew up in a family that always had cats as pets, even when I had my own places I always had cats. It wasn't until I moved in with my BF, who is a dog lover, and then we got Chewy and Lilibell that I officially became hooked on dogs!!! Steve and I both agree that I easily could become a dog hoarder, lol, because I want to save every dog who is abandoned, stray, abused, etc. and give them the best loving home they could ever have!
hey...
I think that is an excellent way of describing dogs..
Our Mama says says she knows what she means! She has us two dogs and one cat, and she adores us all! We are her treasures!
Animals are treasures! You are not a crazy dog lady! :-)
Thanks for the comments you left me on my blog about my cat, Baxter, and what to like about March.
Love the Anne Keenan Higgins illustration!!
P.S. And wonderful quote from Joan C. Fremo!
